There are about 35 member of the Boy Scout Troop
#550, they hail mostly from the Cameron Park area. The club has been
visiting the Driftwood RV Park for as long as any of the members can remember.
They rent the canoes and launch in Redding for the three day 50 miler down to
Woodson Bridge. It is a great outing for the club where they enjoy all the
beauty of the Sacramento River
The club just got back from snow camping along the Rubicon Trail at Loon Lake in
the Crystal Basin area. It was a test of will, for it was snowing heavily and
was quite cold, to say the least! But it only brings out the best in the boys
and tests their survival skills.
Every month they plan some type of outing, this March 04, they plan on going to
the San Andreas area to Moaning Caverns, where they will rappel 165 feet, and
explore the caves. |
